And get ready to set up your account on Mailchimp.
Visit Mailchimp, and from the right side of the corner click on the “Sign Up Free” button.
You will be redirected to the signup page.
After entering all your detail, click on the “Sign up” button.
Within a few seconds, you will receive an activation email. Click on the “Activate Account” button.
Then you will be redirected to the plan page. Choose the desired plan and click on the “Complete” button.
Now you will be redirected to the account setup page. Where you have to give details about you.
Like your first name, last name, business name, website address if you have, and your current address.
Once you have completed all the questions during the account setup.
You will be redirected to the dashboard.
The dashboard you will get after completing your account.
You can go to create, audience, campaigns, and so on through the navbar of the dashboard.
From here let’s see each feature of MailChimp one by one.
This is the first option of the dashboard navbar.
When you will click on the “Create” option, you will see the many more option through the dropdown menu.
You can see different options below the “create” menu such as email, automated email, email template, landing page, social post, survey, contacts.
Let’s first explore the Email option, and see what you can do with this.
When you will click on an email, a pop up will appear.
This popup is divided into three tabs.
Let’s see what each tab does.
Here, you have to give a name to your email campaign.
And click on the “Begin” button to move on further steps.
As you move further you have to compose your email.
Choose your audience list to whom you want to send your message through the “Edit Recipients” button.
Give an eye-catching subject line to your email.
Select an appropriate design for your content by clicking on the “Design Email” button.
As you can see in the above image, there are two types of layout.
You can choose any template that suits your campaign.
As a free version, you will get only two templates unlocked and rest will be locked.

Now I am clicking on the “Sell products” featured layout.
You can see an editor that helps to edit this layout template.
You can add text, images, videos, products, and link your social media profiles.
Use drag and drop the block to add extra stuff to your email template.
Through style panel, you can edit the styles of page, header, body, footer, and so on.
Change color, size, height, font, and alignment. It’s your wish.
You can get feedback on this campaign.
Whenever your customer will reply to this email, their comments will appear in the comments section of this campaign.
Through the navbar, you can preview the final result of your template, and send a test email.
Recheck all your links and preview how your campaign will look like on social media cards.
After creating an attractive and beautiful template for your campaign, click on the “Continue” button.
You will be redirected back to the page from where you have started.
From the top right, you can click on the “Send” button if you want to start sending this email campaign immediately.
Otherwise, click on the “Schedule” button to schedule the date and time to start this campaign.

Let’s see how to create an automated email.
Each trigger is divided into one separate category.
Let have a look at each trigger one by one.
These are the list of automated emails that MailChimp audience uses the most.
That’s the reason why it is featured.
Featured email is the combination of all the automated emails from different sections.
The different sections are “Tags“, “Subscriber Activity“, “E-commerce“, “Date Based“, “API“.
Let’s see every automated email triggers one by one.
This email will be sent to your subscribers when you will tag them. Until then it will be not sent.
Subscriber activity triggers
This email will be triggered when you want to interact with your subscribers when they do some activity.
And these activities are.
- Introduce yourself to people when they sign up for your audience.
- To send an email when a subscriber joins an audience group.
- Send a warm welcome message to people who join your audience through a pop-up form.
All these automated emails will be triggered by your e-commerce store audience.
You can set an e-commerce automated email whenever you want to engage with your e-commerce store audience.
- Say thanks to your customers when they make a purchase.

You will be redirected to select the template page.
Choose the most suitable template for your campaign.
To demonstrate further steps, I am choosing the “Lead Generation” template.
You can customize the template with the help of “Block” and “Styles“.
After editing your template, you can preview your landing page on desktop and mobile.
Once you feel satisfied with the template then click on the “Save & Close” button.
You will be redirected to the “Ready to publish” page.
Recheck all the information you have provided earlier and if find something is wrong then click on the “Edit” button.
If everything is perfect then click on the “Publish” button.
Now your landing page is ready to be shared with other peoples.

You can create a social post by going through “Create” a drop-down menu.
With the social post, you can share and track your post on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
After entering a name for the campaign. Click on the “Begin” button.
Mailchimp will ask you where you want to share your post?
Choose your desired social media platform. And click on the “Save & Continue” button.
Design your post, add title and image on it.
You can add more than one image to your post.
After adding an eye-catching title and image to your post.
Click on “Save & Continue” to review your post.
Now you can publish your post or can schedule it for later.
This is how you can share your post on social media platforms.
Now let’s see the survey in the list of create a dropdown menu.
The survey helps you to get insights by collecting feedback from your audience.
This is how you can create a survey for your website.
Click on “Survey” from create a dropdown menu.
Select your audience for your survey. And click on the “Begin” button.
Let’s build your survey page will appear.
Click on the “Add Questions” button to add questions for your survey to get started.
You have different ways to ask questions from your audience about their interest, experience, likes, and dislikes.
Use radio buttons, checkboxes, 0-10 score range, open text box, and email.
You can go with any of the options that suit your campaign.
And move on to the next step.
For the demo purpose, I have chosen radio buttons as an answer type for my survey questions.
Name your survey and add your question that you would like to ask your audience.
You can add as many options as you wish for your question by clicking on the “+” button.
Once you are ready with all your questions and answers.
Customize your survey page by clicking on the Design navigation tab on the top.
Show custom messages to your audience when they submit your question.
You can also add branding and styles to your page.
When you are satisfied with your desired survey design and questions. Hit on the “Save & Close” button.
Now your survey page is ready to be shared.
Copy the survey URL from the hosted survey section.
You can share your link on Facebook and Twitter too.
Through Mailchimp, you can successfully start a survey to ask your audience what they think and want for your brand.
Next is the contacts in the create drop-down menu list.
You can add new contacts as the audience by uploading a spreadsheet, copy/pasting, and importing from other services such as Google Drive.
Once you click on “Contacts“, Import Contacts page will appear.
Choose an option how would you like to import your contacts.
As for demo purposes, I have selected the “Copy and page” option.
Paste all your contacts from a spreadsheet as it is shown in the input box.

Once you have added organize your contacts based on the status of your audience.

The tag could be one word or phrase that is understandable by you.
After importing, organizing, and adding tags to your contacts, match your all contacts columns with the contact information that is imported.

Click on “Audience” from the top navigation bar of your dashboard.

By clicking on “Audience Dashboard” you can see how your audience is growing.
You can see the recent growth that shows the new contacts added to the audience list in the last 30 days.
You see your audience locations, gender, age, and how often they open and click your email.
Every detail that you wanted to know can see on the audience dashboard.
When you move further in the list of the dropdown menu, you will see “All Contacts“.
Through the “All contacts” page you manage all your contacts.
Edit contact, unsubscribe, resubscribe, archive, and add or remove from VIP.
By clicking on “Export Audience” you can export all your contact as CSV file.

Change the language of the form with the user’s browser language.
Share your form on social media or send a URL to your audience.
Choose how to react when the form is submitted by the user with response emails.

Embedded forms are the HTML generated form that you have to copy and paste code on your site.
With the embedded form, you can edit the code of the form as your wish.
Change the view of the form from classic to condensed, horizontal, and unstyled.
